Right in the heart of the quiet 8th arrondissement, a bit outside of the city’s centre, Marseille museum of contemporary art attracts many people with its innovative exhibitions.
A small museum but nonetheless really fascinating, the Musée d’Art Contemporain (MAC) of Marseille offers a rich collection of contemporary art from 1960 to nowadays.
Although the museum is only 21 years old, it has already an international reputation with local as well as international artists. Special exhibitions show very interesting artworks from contemporary artists while permanent exhibitions change quite often.
The MAC Café is a restaurant located inside the museum boasting a gorgeous and sunny terrace with a view of César Thumb. Definitely the place to have lunch or a cup of tea!
